Fritillaria lanceolata



A chocolate lily, aka rice-root, (Fritillaria lanceolata),  above, from a human's typical perspective. Same species, below, seen from a low-flying or crawling pollinator's view. There are an impressive show of these flowers right now, mid-May, at Gaddis Park in White Salmon. (Photos by Dan Richardson.)



Sagebrush violet


Viola vallicola (sagebrush violet) ... or, at least, a viola of some kind!
